Family
Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years Sheila Flanagan Cones, his brother Gerald Cones and his wife Sharon, his brother Conrad Cones and his wife Teresa of White Plains, Maryland and Orlando, Florida respectively. His son, Daniel Cones of Point of Rocks Maryland, his daughter, Tracy Sacks, son-in-law Jonathan Sacks, and grandson Seamus Sacks of Washington D.C.

Fire Department - Washington D.C.
A dedicated member of the Washington D.C. Fire Department for twenty three years, Tony joined the force in 1957. Retiring as a Captain in 1980 after 23 years of service. He received multiple awards for his service to the community including recognition from President Gerald Ford in establishing the Fire Safety Day, a Bronze Valor award for rescuing two children from a residential fire in 1975, and recognition award from President Jimmy Carter for stopping a suicide attempt in the District.

Memberships
Tony was an active member of The Emerald Society, The American Legion, The Knights of Pythias, The Optimists Club, and The Calvert County Sportsman’s Club.
